Plymouth Marjon prepare for men's national league and Women's regional top flight. New players with ambition and commitment required to help the club progress. Plymouth Marjon HC is a very successful hockey club offering opportunities for all the family what ever your ability or age. Plymouth Marjon is the only truly family club in Plymouth with sides for under 10s right through to the senior Veterans for both sexes. We now have nearly 300 members fielding 11 senior teams, and 12 youth and junior sides for boys and girls aged 18 to under 10s creating one of the largest Clubs in the West and England. The club is in partnership with the Univeristy College Plymouth St Mark & St John (UCP Marjon) Hockey Club which fields 3 mid week BUCS teams. |

Plymouth Marjon HC was formed in 2001(Formely known as Marjons of Plymouth Men's), from an amalgamation of what were arguably the two top teams in Plymouth, ‘The College of St. Mark and St. John’ and the ‘City of Plymouth’. This enabled the Club to grow and become one of the best in the South West in such a short space of time. Two years later the respective women’s clubs joined together (Plymouth & Marjons WHC)and after a steady start saw major progress on and off the pitch just like the men. In 2005 the decision was made by the Men’s, Women’s, Junior and Veteran clubs to form the biggest Club in Devon and Cornwall. In 2009 the existing PMJHC split with the majority of the members, managers and coaches agreeing to stay with PMHC to establish the new Junior and Youth section which has over 150 members. Our combined membership now stands at nearly 300 players and 23 sides! Recent highlights include a two year spell for the men's 1st XI in the national league. However after being relegated in 2007 the club was determined to regain its NL status and after a fine season regained their national league status after winning the N4 Financial Solutions regional premier division 2008-09. The Women’s first XI will also be returning back to the West Women's regional top flight after a fine season accomplishing their mission with a commanding unbeaten season.
This season the U18 girls had a fine cup run defeating the likes of Clifton, Exe and Isca before losing to Reading 3-3 after penalty strokes in the quarter finals.
Club teams also play friendly fixtures against our Vets and Youth teams. In addition Plymouth Marjon also have a number of affiliated teams playing in the Plymouth Mixed League, which is played between May and July across the city.
The Club is also heavily involved in the coaching and development of grass roots junior hockey. We currently run U18, U16, U15, U14, U13, U12, U11 and U10s teams which compete in a range of local, county and national competitions. The clubs thriving junior & youth club which runs on a Sunday morning play regular matches in the Plymouth Junior league on a Friday evening . Members of the club also run the very successful Ivybridge Junior Hockey club which feeds players into Plymouth Marjon. The club also supports the development of players at Plymstock Panthers.
